Okay so I am dead OBSESSED with EVERYTHING from MK Spring 2013.  My favorite is the gold cut-out lace dress.  It is beautiful.

How are you guys feeling about school starting back up again?  I don’t know about you, but I am so excited.  Partly because I am graduating in December but also because I am in love with and probably would die for Fall Fashion <3.  See, I love it so much that I capitalize it when im writing about it.  Haha!

ANYWAY!  This is my set on Polyvore for my first week of school.  I was still holding onto summer a little bit but at the same time I was falling into fall very quick!

See, I dont know if i would market this as a weekender because I feel like it isnt big enough, but I love it so much! hahaha :)

Okay, so lets talk about how obsessed with maxi dresses I have been.  I don’t know about you but I just love them so much.  The one problem I have with them?  That they dont show your tan legs (haha, wow!).  I love solid print maxi dresses because they can be dressed up or down with jean jackets, adorable vests, gorgeous accessories or more!  The reason I dont like printed maxi dresses is because I feel like they can be way too much.  If you are going to work a print in a maxi dress it seems that a smaller print is way more flattering.

The best thing about this by Damsel In Dior though is that I am obsessed with how she tied it up at the hemline.  She chose simple shoes, the flip flops that were Haviana’s I believe, and she worked it.  I am obsessed with the extremely low back because its added drama to such a simple, beautiful dress.  I am sure that if you don’t want to rock it because its too daring, a bandaeu will look perfecto!

Thanks for the inspiration, Damsel!

Happy maxi dresses!

I am going to start a new segment on my blog called, “So Upset Saturday’s.”  In this series I will talk about products that I don’t enjoy and will not purchase again.  The series will be just like a “Products I Regret Buying” type thing!  I hope you enjoy the first installment!

So, I was looking for a new leave-in conditioner.  I don’t know why because the previous one that I had, I adored.  None the less, I figured I would try something from the drugstore and see what they were offering.  I had some Rite Aid Up Bonus Points so I headed over there and used them right up!  I know that Nexxus is carried in most drugstores and Target but I have known it to be more of a higher end/pricier brand.  I know that the shampoo and conditioner have worked for me in the past so I figured why not try their leave in conditioner.  With that being said, I chose the “Nexxus Humectress Luxe Ultimate Moisture Leave-In Conditioner.”

I absolutely hated this product.

First of all, like my previous LIC (Aveeno Nourish and Condition), I expected the product to leave my hair feeling smooth and manageable.  This did the exact opposite.  I had dry and unmanageable hair almost immediately after the application. My hair was still wet and I could feel that the product was just not working.  After my hair had dried, the product made my hair even worse, it felt like straw.  I know that I have tried Suave shampoo from the drug store with Humectant in it and it has worked better than this on my hair making it feel luxurious and it was only $3.

This Nexxus LIC retailed for $12.99 at Rite Aid and thank goodness I didn’t end up paying that much as I used my Up Rewards and got it for $2.99.  I have already purchased another Aveeno Nourish and Condition and have been using that.  Looks like I won’t be straying from it anytime soon.

If you guys use something that you seem to just not be able to get enough of, leave it in the comments below and let me know!

Happy conditioning!

Have you guys started following me on Polyvore yet?  This is my latest set and it is for the #Polyvoreclue contest that’s going on right now.  I named it “Girls Spa Day” and it kind of reminded me that I really want a girl’s spa day.  Haha!  Check it out and follow me! :)

Here’s another video from Emotistyle that I thought you would share.  I am in love with the outfit that they created and how they styled it together because mixing patterns are amazing.  The best thing?  They always spread positive messages <3.  Check them out on youtube, they are amazing.

So I was inspired by a Polyvore contest to make this set but I wanted to write about it because I love it.  I love things for the office that look professional but chic at the same time.  In these looks, I have two blazers and two button downs because the button down was the focus of the contest that I was entering.  I love the button down because although most of the time they are buttoned up (imagine that), they can be un-buttoned and still look professional with a cami and perhaps a scarf.  There are no limits to the button down.

I love the blazer because it adds an element of professionalism like the mentioned before.  I love that you can rock a blazer in any hue.  The full blazer is the way to go in the office rather than a cropped blazer because the length will pull the look together and coordinate nicely with the pants that you chose.

As far as pants go, trousers are professional and slacks as well.  Chose hues that match with the color scheme that you are trying to achieve (as with any outfit) and you will be sure that you are making the right selection.  A straight pant with a simple pleat on the front of the leg pulls the ensemble together and incorporates our professionalism that we have going on here.

For shoes, the best bet is just to make sure that the color scheme matches and they are acceptable for the office.  If you are not a heels girl, its okay!  There are adorable, professional looking oxfords or flats that will be perfect to rock in the office.  If you do like the taller shoes, complete your look with heels/pumps that are nude.  I recommend nude because they are adorable, professional and almost match with everything.  Obviously if you are rocking a black blazer/pants, chose the black pumps over the nude ones.

For accessories, keep it minimal.  I have been loving tucking a gold necklace (some have accents of colors if appropriate for the outfit), under the collar of the button up shirt for a perfect accent.  I love a simple bracelet and I have been obsessed with arm parties!  If looking for an earring to wear in the office, dont go insane!  Make sure you are not distracting.

Happy office chic!

xoxo Brit.
